Seneca is seeking a full-time paid School Psychologist Intern position working within the charter schools in the Puget Sound area from Seattle to Tacoma. Schools include grades K-3 and 5-11. Some flexibility is available with school preferences. The School Psychologist Intern position is a great opportunity to have an impact working in new schools with creative and innovation ideas and approaches. 


  • Assist school team with informal evaluation and prevention strategies for students prior to special education referrals
  • Assist in the administering of psycho-educational evaluations of students
  • Participate in writing evaluation results into evaluation reports, including psychoeducation and functional behavior assessments
  • Work directly with children, teachers, administrators, and families to develop individualized classroom and school-wide interventions
  • Coordinate the development of the Individual Education Program (IEP) for students placed in Special Services program
  • Consult with school staff to help improve student learning and mental health outcomes
  • At times, provide direct service to students by implementing and managing academic and behavioral interventions
  • Assist parents in developing skills to help their children succeed at home and in school
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and administrators to find effective solutions to learning and behavior problems
  • Provide brief counseling of students in crisis
  • Assist in developing and facilitating group counseling sessions
  • Be knowledgeable of State and Federal special education rules and regulations
  • Work within state-mandated time periods for meetings and assessments
  • Follow all school and organization policies, rules and regulations


  • Enrolled in a school psychologist graduate program at an accredited university
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license and insurance; insurable by Seneca's automobile policy
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
