The Bilingual (Spanish/English) Behavioral Interventionist (BI) helps design, implement and monitor behavioral plans for students that are based on thorough assessments and collaboration with Seneca Therapist and team, school staff, and significant others in student’s life. Additionally, the Behavioral Interventionist can coordinate services at the school sites and provide coaching, modeling and development opportunities to school staff. 


  • Provide non-judgmental, unconditional support to children and families participating in the Seneca Center Programs.
  • Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to plan, manage and supervise students’ behavioral plans.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality of client information.
  • Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs).
  • Develop Behavioral Intervention Plans.
  • Form consultation relationships with school staff, including general and special educators and school leadership
  • Provide direct interventions to students as appropriate.
  • Engage families in the treatment planning process.
  • Participate in professional learning communities to enhance practice and create coherence.
  • Provide strength-based and culturally competent services.
  • Conduct community resource development.


  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Social Services/Social Work/Psychology/Counseling
  • At least three years of experience in working with children with emotional disturbance and/or who exhibit extremely challenging behaviors and their families, preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English abilities required
  • Experience providing crisis assessment, management, and interventions, preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently in the community, at school sites, and in the office.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, including solid computer skills in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong organizational skills as demonstrated by the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with a diverse population of clients.
  • Valid California driver's license and insurable by Seneca's automobile policy
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements.
