Overview

Seneca's Willow Rock Center is the front-end of a crisis stabilization continuum of care, and is designed to provide the immediate intervention services necessary to divert adolescents from hospitalization. Our team provides a safe and nurturing environment for youth as they assist the youth in regaining the stability necessary to return home or to a community-based placement.

The Crisis Counselor provides crisis support for youth entering the 23-hour Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). Crisis Counselors will provide a safe and nurturing environment for youth that come into the program, and will intervene as necessary to assist the youth in stabilizing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the clinician with the intake process, including assessment and creating a welcoming environment for the youth
  • Provide stabilization services for youth that include individualized intervention, safety planning, behavioral intervention and coping skills education
  • Work closely with parents and/or social workers as treatment team members, and help social workers prepare a treatment plan
  • Engage the youth in therapeutic activities and projects
  • Provide supervision for visits with family when necessary
  • Participate in weekly supervision
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and paperwork
  • Intervene with the clients' behavior modification programs as needed. This includes physical management of clients (implementing of Seneca's Ahimsa Model Training) as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bilingual Spanish/English abilities a plus
  • Valid California drivers license and insurability through Seneca's automobile policy
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Ability to work as a team player and with a diverse population

Schedule

  • Full time
  • Sunday 7:00am - 7:30pm, Monday - Wednesday 7:00am - 3:00pm, Thursday on-call 7:00am - 7:00pm
