  • Overview

    The therapist at Seneca’s San Francisco Connections program is responsible for the ongoing provision of culturally competent mental health services to students and their families, including individual and family therapy. It is their responsibility to strive to provide the best possible treatment for their clients and their families. They are also responsible for documentation to comply with agency wide requirements as well as the requirements of the various counties with whom we work. Services will be provided on site at Daniel Webster Elementary and in the community as needed.


    • Provide weekly individual therapy for 10-12 clients on site at Daniel Webster Elementary School
    • Meet as needed with clients’ families for family therapy if requested, on the school site or in the community
    • Chart mental health notes, treatment plans, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Maintain professional behavior at all times, appropriately representing the Seneca mission and philosophy.
    • Maintain close communication with school staff, families, and other providers to design, implement , and monitor treatment planning for clients
    • Meet weekly with other clinical staff for team supervision/case conference and present cases on a rotating basis, as well as attending school meetings as needed
    • Attend weekly individual supervision meetings and all relevant trainings
    • Participate in crisis response system.
    • Provide crisis intervention as needed including aiding in physical management of the clients using Seneca Center’s Ahimsa Model Training


    • Bilingual Spanish/English Abilities required
    • Minimum 9 months direct clinical work and supervisor recommendation
    • Master’s degree in Social Work/Psychology/Counseling, LCSW or MFT license eligible
    • Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred, as this is an immersion school
    • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other state or federal requirements
    • Own vehicle, valid California Drivers License and insurance
    • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Experience working with children in out-of-home care a plus
    • Experience working with diverse populations and communities of color
    • Strong organizational, computer and writing skills
    • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings as needed to meet client needs
    • Willing to respond to crisis situations and participate in a rotating emergency pager system
