  • Overview

    The Family Finding Specialist holds the responsibility of serving as a facilitator and permanency worker for families being served in SF Connections Wraparound Program. The Family Finding Specialist will lead Family Team Meetings using the principals of the wrap-around model (family-centered, individualized, strengths-based and outcome focused) in partnership with the Wrap Care Coordinator and Support Counselor. Additionally, the Family Finding Specialist will support the goal of ensuring that identified youth have at least one legal, physical permanent option as well as an increased network of natural supports.

    Responsibilities

    • Understands and applies the principles and stages of Family Finding, from discovery to engagement, to planning, to implementation, and to evaluation of results.
    • Coordinate and facilitate Blended Perspective meetings.
    • Collaborate closely with HSA Workers and Probation Officers on Family Finding efforts.
    • In partnership with Wraparound Teams, facilitate Family Team Meetings.
    • Participate as a collaborative and positive member of the San Francisco Connections program (attend required trainings, meetings, supervision). 
    • Document work through MediCal Mental Health note billing.
    • Attend trainings related to Family Finding and apply findings from research on Family Finding best practices.
    • Receive consultation from Family Finding experts.

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s a plus!
    • Prefer MHRS status or registered with the California BBS.
    • Minimum of one year experience implementing family-focused wraparound treatment.
    • Demonstrated competence in the skill areas of positive client engagement, communication and an understanding of the challenges that families involved in the Child Welfare and Juvenile Probation systems may be experiencing.
    • Bilingual abilities in Spanish/English a plus! 
    • Experience working with a diverse population.
    • Own vehicle, Valid California Driver’s License and insurability with Seneca's automobile policy,
    • Clearance of TB test, physical exam, fingerprinting and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements.

    Schedule

    • Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed
