  • Overview

    The Speech and Language Pathologist works as a member of multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment team in an effort to meet the varied needs of public school students. The SLP functions as the direct service provider in the implementation of services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or students receiving Response to Intervention (RtI) prevention and early intervention services. The Speech and Language Pathologist also acts in a consulting capacity to teachers and school staff around the delivery of an enriched language program to all students, with special attention given to the needs of English Language Learners.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide speech and language services to identified students.
    • Assess students who appear to be in need of speech and language treatment.
    • Attend IEPs and evaluation student progress as required by the IEP review process.
    • Work effectively as a member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary intervention team
    • Provide consultation and support to school staff regarding the language needs of all students
    • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, classrooms and support staff.

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in speech pathology or related field.
    • Bilingual in Spanish a plus; ability to communicate in Spanish and conduct Spanish language assessments strongly preferred.
    • California Clinical Rehabilitation Services Credential authorizing services in public schools
    • California State License
    • Certification of Clinical Competence
    • Valid driver's license and insurability through Seneca's automobile policy
    • Fulfillment of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.

    Schedule

    • Monday - Friday, full time.
