  • Overview

    The Environment of Care (EC) Compliance Coordinator facilitates Joint Commission compliance for the Environment of Care, Emergency Management and Life Safety standards, by managing communication between the EC compliance manager and Seneca Family of Agencies, as well as designing and implementing systems to maintain consistent compliance.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, create and maintain systems (online and physical) to keep records of compliance with all applicable standards.
    • Conduct a Semi-Annual review of all EC related contracts and present information to the EC Compliance Manager which reflects differences in cost and value.
    • Maintain a clear understanding of Joint Commission, Occupational Safety Hazard Administration (OSHA), Community Care Licensing and fire code regulations.
    • Plan and create training as necessary for agency staff regarding safety and security, safety data sheets, life safety, hazardous materials, emergency management and utility systems.
    • Take notes/dictation at all EC related meetings and conferences.
    • Manage all communication between EC Compliance office and site safety officers (SSOs)
    • Maintain SSO Manifest, manage and collect SSO documents, and coordinate stipend information with Payroll.
    • Schedule the EC Compliance Manger’s calendar regarding EC contractor meetings and required testing intervals, and present information to the quarterly EC Meeting and committee.
    • Build and maintain a master database of hyperlinked documents with pertinent facilities-related information and ancillary documents, including to Egress Maps, fire panel information and fire extinguishers etc.
    • Maintain SEMAS (emergency management system).
    • Offer creative and thoughtful solutions to the EC Compliance Manager as issues arise with compliance, and coordinate solutions with other leads and Quality Assurance.
    • Continually evaluate and anticipate needs of the EC Compliance program agency wide, and maintain awareness of emerging technologies and how they can potentially benefit compliance.
    • All other duties as necessary for the good of the agency as instructed by supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent informal education.
    • 2+ years’ experience in a similar administrative or coordinator position.
    • Must possess a passion for safety and the pursuit of compliance with safety standards.
    • Basic knowledge of state, federal and local environmental regulations.
    • Advanced MS Office suite proficiency.
    • Professional, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal staff and external contacts and collaborators.
    • Ability to work positively in a broad team dynamic.
