  • Overview

    Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Nurse is responsible for implementing and evaluating the nursing care delivered within his/her shift, and for utilizing the nursing process to provide assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation of resident care within designated clinical areas. S/he is responsible for meeting all regulatory documentation standards. S/he participates in the multidisciplinary team, QA and UR activities. S/he acts as a clinical role model and provides nursing consultation to staff within the assigned areas of responsibility.

     

    Willow Rock Center is an adolescent crisis stabilization and treatment facility. This program provides mental health interventions to divert adolescents from hospitalization when they may be safely discharged to the community.  The Crisis Stabilization Unit staff and inpatient staff provide a safe and nurturing environment as they assist youth in regaining the stability necessary to safely return home or to a community-based placement.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for quality clinical care on assigned shift.
    • Evaluates own practice and maintains consistent standards of care.
    • Collects and analyzes assessment data to formulate resident care problems, individualized outcomes, plans, implements and evaluates nursing interventions.
    • Provides all care required to be given by a nurse on shift assigned.
    • Meets all regulatory and facility documentation standards.
    • Protects the dignity and rights of residents.
    • Provides culturally competent standards.
    • Provides leadership.
    • Collaborates with Psychiatrist to ensure quality of medication administration, adequate consents, medical treatment and follow-up.
    • Collaborates with Clinical Manager to ensure health and safety, infection control, resource utilization, and clinical and rehabilitative standards of care.
    • Communicates effectively with others and promotes teamwork.
    • Participates in nursing department, staff meetings and other facility activities.
    • Fosters professional development of staff on assigned shift.
    • Carries out functions and responsibilities as it pertains to giving orders and conducting evaluations of clients in restraint/seclusion as per Seneca Center Crisis Intervention Policy Section 8.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s of Science or Associate’s degree in Nursing and Valid California Registered Nurse
    • OR
    • Bachelor’s of Science with 2 years relevant nurse experience and Valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse
    • CPR – BLS
    • Good communication, organization and leadership skills
    • Psychiatric Nursing experience preferred
    • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other State/Federal licensing or certification requirements

    Schedule

    • Part Time 
    • Thursday and Saturday 7pm-7:30am
