  • Overview

    The Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant works as a member of multi-disciplinary team and is a direct service provider in the implementation of the Speech and Language Individualized Educational Plan.  The Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant also acts in a consulting capacity around the delivery of an enriched language program to all students.

    • Work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Provide consultation and professional development to support school staff in experiencing success with all students
    • Conduct screenings of students to determine the need for further assessment and assist SLP supervisor in completion of full assessments
    • Implement research-based speech and language interventions to individuals and groups per students’ IEPs and/or intervention plans for the purpose of implementing goals for remediation of speech and language deficits
    • Engage in progress monitoring to guide instructional planning and decision-making
    • Prepare IEP paperwork and maintain files
    • Participate and chair IEP meetings and act as IEP case manager for assigned students
    • Engage caregivers in the educational process, providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needsParticipate in professional learning communities to enhance practice and create coherence


    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant Certification                                    
    • At least 21 years of age
    • Valid Driver’s License with ability to be insured by Seneca's automobile policy
    • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other state or federal requirements
