    This role crosses two program, providing care both for youth enrolled in Seneca Marin’s Wraparound program as well as for youth placed in two Seneca foster homes also located in Marin County. The Youth Counselor will serve youth and families involved with Juvenile Justice System, Child Welfare Systems and/or receiving Special Education services through one of Marin Counties school districts. Services delivered include mental health support, skill building, linkage support, crisis intervention, and case management.


    The primary responsibilities of the Youth Counselor are to act as behavioral coach and counselor to clients referred to either program.

    • Provide mental health interventions, skill building, linkage support, crisis intervention, and case management services to ensure the successful placement of clients in foster care homes
    • Work with Wraparound facilitator to build and maintain a wraparound team dedicated to the success of the youth.
    • Support foster parents in the implantation of client treatment goals and guide them in assisting client’s in their acquisition of new skills and behavioral responses
    • Provide on-call coverage to the clients and their families
    • Participate in all family team meetings, program staff meetings, and IEP meetings when necessary
    • Complete mental health notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated
    • Assist with planning arrangements and transportation for school, therapy appointments, and court hearings
    • Maintain professional behavior at all times, appropriately representing Seneca’s mission and philosophy


    • Bachelor’s degree required 
    • Experience in working with children in residential care and/or in the community a plus!
    • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
    • Own a vehicle, California driver’s license and insurance
    • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other State/Federal licensing or certification requirements


    • Full-time; Monday - Friday


    • $20 per hour with an additional salary increase for bilingual Spanish/English abilities upon passing a bilingual proficiency exam.
