Overview

The primary responsibility of the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Therapist is to provide clinical services to PHP clients, co-facilitate training for the PHP team, complete documentation, and support the clinical integrity of the program. Therapists in the PHP provide intensive, short-term stabilization services to enable clients to step down to lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment. The main treatment modality is group therapy.

 

About STEP Partial Hospitalization Programs

The STEP (Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress (STEP) Program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca Family of Agencies. STEP provides intensive, short-term and stabilization services enabling youth to reintegrate into school and the community with lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment. STEP clients participate in daily groups, attend family therapy sessions, meet with a psychiatrist, and receive case management and medication management services.

Responsibilities

  • Hold clinical integrity for program.
  • Maintain on-time clinical documentation.
  • Facilitate group, individual, and family therapy.
  • Facilitate risk assessments, case management, and discharge planning.
  • Provide appropriate clinical trainings and information to staff when needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members and providers. 
  • Proactively problem solving when identified issues arise.
  • Assist with intakes, as needed
  • Support other Seneca programs when client enrollment permits.
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training. This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities may be required.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior at all times in accordance with Seneca's mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related subject area.
  • Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, computer, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize projects.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a transdisciplinary team.
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license, own vehicle, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption.

Schedule

  • Full Time
  • Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Benefits

  • Starting salary: $69,010 - $83,010 annually
    • Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
    • $4000 salary increase upon licensure.
    • $2000 sign-on bonus for new Seneca employees
