As a Social Worker for our Katie A. Services, you'll utilize your expertise to coordinate and plan services for children transitioning from institutional settings to family or family-like environments. Working closely with social service, probation, and mental health departments, you'll provide support in diverse community settings such as families' homes, group homes, foster homes, and schools. Your primary objective will be to facilitate collaboration among all stakeholders towards achieving stability for the child and their family. Social Workers engage clients in meaningful and authentic relationships while providing a safe, predictable, and positive environment that aligns with our clients’ values and cultures. 

 

ABOUT KATIE A. SERVICES (KAS) 

Seneca serves Santa Clara County children/youth by offering a focus on managing mental and behavioral health needs and increasing placement stabilization. KAS services dually focus on therapy and the child and family team meeting process that focuses on building a strong team to collaboratively address the needs of the child and family. KAS staff are able to serve children and youth between the ages of 6-21. KAS is designed to increase the access for children/youth in foster care, probation, or children/youth who are at risk of out of home placement to mental health services.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly meet with clients and caregivers on a regular basis to further treatment goals utilizing culturally informed and best practice modalities. 
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams for the purpose of care planning and support. 
  • Collaborate with agency staff, caregivers, other professionals and interested parties to formulate and implement individual client care plans, behavioral programs, and interventions. 
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers, as needed. 
  • Complete assessment and evaluation process of clients in order to develop and implement the care plan. 
  • Provide assistance in case planning and consultation to team members on clinical issues, as well as casework issues, as appropriate. 
  • Chart mental health notes, care plans, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain availability for crisis intervention services, such as on-call rotation, if applicable. 
  • Comply with all child abuse reporting and Medicaid/Medi-Cal requirements in accordance with standards set by Seneca.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and business operations information.
  • Commit to and engage in self-evaluation as well as organizational goals, strategies, and systemic practices regarding diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's EQ-4 model training. This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities such as CPI may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work/psychology/counseling
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure (California Board of Behavioral Sciences) with the applicable regulatory agency responsible for licensing, examination, and enforcement of competent mental health practice standards
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience working with children in out-of-home care preferred
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Good organizational and writing skills
  • At least 21 years of age
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirement.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption

Schedule

  • Monday- Friday
  • Flexible schedule required, with the ability to work some evenings 
  • Participate some weekends On-Call Crisis Response on a rotating basis

Benefits

  • Starting at $82,400 - $96,400 per year, actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
