Seneca is looking for a School-Based Therapist to support a caseload of students and families with therapy, case management, and consultation services at grades 6th- 12th at Envision Academy school in Oakland, CA. As an School Therapist, you’ll provide outstanding therapeutic and case-management services, including conducting mental health assessments and implementing individual behavioral plans. You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with teachers, counselors, and school leadership to ensure the success of youth and families in a district school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with a trans-disciplinary team to implement academic, behavioral, and therapeutic services for students in need of intervention
  • Implement research-based interventions aligned with the three tiers of the MTSS pyramid, including individual, group, and family therapy as well as case management for identified students  
  • Provide coaching and professional development to support school staff in experiencing success with all students
  • Engage caregivers in the educational process, providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needs
  • Consult school staff on safety assessments, mental health crises, and accessing social services. 
  • Document interventions and provide necessary reports on student progress
  • Participate in regular supervision to enhance practice

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology
    • Eligible to register with the California BBS
  • Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting is strongly preferred
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to the growth and development of an engaged program culture
  • TB test clearance, fingerprints, and COVID-19 vaccination
  • Bilingual Spanish-English proficiency preffered

Schedule

  • School based schedule:
    • Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4 PM
  • 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break days

  • Starting at $71,080 - $85,080 per year, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
