As the Outpatient Therapist responsible for the ongoing provision of culturally informed mental health services to clients and their families, including individual, group and family therapy. They are also responsible for documentation to comply with agency-wide requirements as well as the requirements of the county with whom we work. The therapist will work with a dynamic team of therapists serving children ranging from school-age to late adolescence. 

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The therapist at Seneca’s Outpatient program is responsible for the ongoing provision of culturally competent mental health services to clients and their families, including individual and family therapy. The Outpatient program utilizes a set a practices which have been determined by the ethnic community consensus to yield positive results and reached a level of acceptance by the community being served. The families that we serve identify as Latinx or African/African American. Interventions shall infuse a world view, contextual aspects and include a set of practices that are culturally rooted as a central and fundamental approach. Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community: in families’ homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly therapy services from a bicultural lens to families enrolled in our Ethnic Outpatient Program and support Intensive Outpatient program as needed. Caseloads vary but can be up to 24 clients.
  • Provide case management and coordinate linkage to other community resources as necessary.
  • Provide mental health services including individual, family and group therapy in addition to case management, linkage and consultation with community resources including schools and other providers.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and treatments plans in accordance with county (medi-cal) and Seneca practices.
  • Comply with all requirements of child abuse reporting, compliance, and confidentiality in accordance with standards set by Seneca Family of Agencies.
  • Maintain availability for crisis intervention services and complete incident reports in adherence to agency timeline.
  • Maintain close communication with other Seneca providers to design, implement, and monitor treatment planning for clients.
  • Participate in clinical supervision practices including individual/group supervision weekly, in-vivo supervision in sessions, use of one way mirror, audio recordings of sessions and case conferences.  
  • Promptly respond to referrals of children and adolescents who present with symptoms of psychiatric disorders.
  • Commit to and engage in self-evaluation as well as organizational goals, strategies, and systemic practices regarding diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's EQ-4 model training.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social work 

  • Registered with California BBS: ASW, AMFT, APCC, or full licensed
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations

  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Obtain fingerprint clearances with the DOJ and FBI in addition to other regulatory requirements

  • Own vehicle. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy

  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination

PREFERRED

  • Experience working with children in out-of-home care preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English

Schedule

  • Full-time; Monday - Friday 
    • 11AM-7PM or 10AM to 6PM
    • Hybrid; provide in-person services & complete documentation remotely
    • Flexibility with occasional weekends, on-call 

Benefits

  • Starting at $84,872 - $98,872 per year.
    • Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
