Overview

The Bilingual Mental Health Specialist provides crisis and connective services to youth and families who are experiencing significant psychological, emotional, and behavioral problems that are interfering with their well-being in spaces including but not limited to client homes, hospitals, community spaces, etc. This position will coordinate and implement treatment goals and service delivery for assigned clients, meeting with clients and caregivers on a regular basis. As a Support Facilitator, you will work alongside a treatment team to help deliver services

 

ABOUT START

START is a Children’s Full-Service Partnership Program (FSP), funded by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) in partnership with Contra Costa Mental Health that provides exceptionally integrated, coordinated service to youth who frequently utilize crisis services and may be involved in the child welfare and/or juvenile justice system. We serve youth ages 18 and under with histories of multiple hospitalizations and crisis support, imminent risk of homelessness, who have serious mental illness and/or who are not being served or are being underserved by the current mental health system

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic crisis intervention and stabilization, risk assessment and collaboration in times of acute crisis.
  • Provide case management services to ensure the successful transition of clients and their families to community-based resources.
  • Provide services to clients that focus on skill building in all life domains.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers.
  • Aid in care planning and consultation to team members on clinical issues, as well as casework issues, as appropriate.
  • Participate in all treatment reviews, program meetings and trainings, and client meetings when necessary.
  • Complete mental health notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated.
  • Participate in weekly individual and group supervision.
  • Adhere to clinical best practices.
  • Complete clinical documentation, including but not limited to assessments, treatment planning, etc.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule that includes early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed.
  • Participate in providing emergency on-call response as scheduled.
  • Function as a program leader and uphold the ideals of the program.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • MHRS certification may be required, in accordance with county contracts for services
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English
  • Ability to effectively work with a diverse population and workforce.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.
  • Own vehicle and current automobile insurance.
  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination

Schedule

  • Full time
    • Mon - Fri; 9AM - 5:30PM
    • Hybrid; Services will predominantly occur in-person within the Concord/Antioch/Richmond/Martinez community with the opportunity to complete some of your responsibilities remotely
    • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekend as needed
    • On-call rotation

  • Starting at $34.05 to $36.55 per hour, actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
