ABOUT THE ROLE
The Juvenile Justice Support Counselor provides community based mental health counseling, support, crisis intervention services to adolescents on formal probation. Support Counselors act as behavioral coaches and mentors to youth ages 13-19 years old who are in need of additional support in order to remain in their home setting and avoid further involvement in the juvenile justice system. The Support Counselor is a part of a multi disciplinary wraparound team serving adolescents and teens directly involved in Alameda County’s juvenile probation system.
